The Little Pedigree Chart That Went Viral

Last week my fellow blogger, J. Paul Hawthorne of GeneaSpy

created a colorful birthplace pedigree chart using Microsoft Excel. He then posted his chart on Facebook and from there it exploded on not only Facebook but Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and probably every genealogy blog that is currently active. 

I am a little late to the party with my chart but better late than never as the saying goes! This is my family birthplace chart. As you can see it is not very colorful because my parents, grandparents and so on all were born in Kentucky with few exceptions. Thank you, J. Paul Hawthorne on a fun exercise! #MyColorfulAncestry

Family Picture Friday - Happy Easter Everyone!

This is my first Easter picture with my Mom! April 1963 Hialeah, Florida. I will see you on Sunday, Momma! 

 

Happy Anniversary to My Grandparents, William & Peggy Williams!

My paternal grandparents, William Elmer Williams and Peggy Scott Rich would have been married 86 years today, March 24th. I believe is their 86th Wedding Anniversary, I think! They eloped and used variations of their names on the marriage records which I still have not been able to find but I do have pictures of their wedding announcements from the newspapers and a picture from my grandmother's scrapbook and how she arranged them in her scrapbook. My Aunt Sally is guardian of Grandma's scrapbook.

The photos below are two of wedding announcements that were in the paper announcing the surprise wedding of my grandparents and then one of the few photographs of my grandparents. My grandmother is the daughter of Robert Lincoln Rich and Lillian Bergamot Lanahan and my grandfather was the son of William Points Willams and Sarah Elizabeth Lucas.

Welcome to the World Julia!!!

Congratulations to my cousin, Douglas and his beautiful wife, Tracy who have brought another beautiful little girl into the world yesterday. Her name is Julia Ruth and she is a beauty! I am so very happy for you both. I know how excited Anna Dayle must be to become a big sister and I know she will always cherish that role. And by now Julia, has all of you wrapped around her little fingers! Congratulations to my cousin Amy and her hubby Greg on their beautiful new granddaughter and Congratulations to Tracy's family too!

I hope you have eyes that are bright like starlight.

I hope you are sugar and spice but mischievious too!

I hope your laugh sounds like the tinkling of bells.
